We will hear all week how the Steelers lost that game, not that the Raiders won. Sportswriters sometimes forget that now matter how far you may have fallen or how bad it's gotten, a team still has pride.
They can swagger in but the defense saw to it that they limped out ( and it feels damn good to say that).
Woo! I had visions of Rod Woodson's game (and season) changing return for a TD against the Donkeys in 02 when Fast Carr hit the gas for his 100yd TD return.
This win was similar to the Bears win over the Cardinals. the difference is that the Bears "found a way to win" whereas the Steelers just "gave away the game." A "W" is a "W," and I'm not about to turn my nose up to a win. We know who won the game, even if the major media won't give us credit.
RaiderRealist are you quoting someone when referring to the Steelers giving it away? If not, it sounds like you aren't giving the Raiders credit like you are faulting the media for. Just curious?
To Raiderrealist: The Bears find a way to win. . . blah, blah, blah. What is that? The Raiders beat the World Champions. Had they not committed those offensive penalties and dropped passes, it would not have been this close. They have not played defense like this since 2002. ENJOY!
well this should have been the tougher stretch in our schedule, but god has blessed the silver and black with a depleted (but still worthy) seahawks opponent. if the defense continues and puts a beating on seneca wallace as they should, all we can ask is that the offense gets a kickstart and can put some points up.
I was referring to a local show in L.A. with Jim Hill, Eric Dickerson and Steve Hartman. That's why the quotation marks. I am enjoying this win. Hey CJ, did you catch the show that I am referring to?

Excellent Blog. It's become a daily read.
Well, it wasn't our offense's best showing, but there are no "*"s in the win OR loss column.
We beat the world Champions, and our season is looking up!
2 down...9 more to go
Good win - let's see what they can do with a struggling group of Seahags next week.

We bent but didn't break. Take that!
Anonymous 5:48pm is exactly right.
Take this lead in to the AP game summary:
As putrid as the Oakland Raiders were to start the season, they're now at least as good -- or is it bad? -- as the Super Bowl champs.

The Raiders won. That's all it matters. it was an ugly win but we'll take it.
