Chargers Gameday Thread: Angry Edition

It's time to start getting pissed. The Raiders are 0-15 in their last 15 games.

When you embark on a rebuilding program, bumps on the road are expected. But when you're three years into that program, the bird's eye view should show steady progress.

Yet the Raiders are going downhill, on a road paved with flimsy excuses. We are being conditioned to accept a 2-14 or 1-15 season. And what then? Then 4-12 becomes "progress" next year, and the next year we maybe we get back to 8-8, and then in year six or seven or eight into this rebuilding we actually achieve a winning record?

To be accepting of such a timeline right now, after two full drafts, and a free agency period flush with cash, is insane.

If you look around the Raiders Nation, a sort of complacency has set in. We've been beaten into submission by a dozen straight years of crap, and now losing is the norm.

We need to shake the new norm. Don't accept the unacceptable.

Today is a winnable game. The Raiders have proven that they can hang with the Chargers. Now it's time to do something about it. The Raiders themselves need to stop accepting the unacceptable. Go out and win.

Coming off their bye week, will the Chargers be refreshed or will they be flat? The answer could be the difference today.

IMO, it’s important for the Raiders to notch a win this year, if for no other reasons than to boost the confidence of a decent rookie class and to preclude going into next season needing only four losses to match the NFL’s all-time consecutive winless streak.

Coming into what should be a second straight off-season with record-setting cap space, it’s really hard to imagine McKenzie will be given another chance; considering a key component to this off-season will be to rid the team of virtually every free agent McKenzie signed last year.

Let's get a win!

Go Raiders!!

Why in the crap did the Raiders re-sign Khalif Barnes to a one year deal? Here we go again....

What the Raiders need to do today is commit to the running game. They will win this game by keeping the Chargers offense off the field, and allow our defense to rest. McFadden or MJD need to combine for 25+ carries today, as well as gain an average of 3.5 yards per carry. Limit the passes from Carr to make safe reads, take a chance for a big pass at least once a quarter.

JUST WIN, BABY!

This is the one road game every year which is like a home game for the Raiders -- short 1 hour flight and 50% Raider fans in the stands.

3 keys for me today ...

(1) get off to a fast start
(2) McFadden having a big day
(3) Raiders defensive pass pressure

3rd down and one yard, and Raiders can't get it.

This offensive line is the worst in NFL history.

Raiders should fire their strength & conditioning coach tomorrow.

I have never seen an 0-line with "men", as weak, and soft, as these Raiders.

They are either weak, or tired, or both.

And winless Reggie believes the answer is to resign, K. Barnes, and bring back more of the same crap for next year.

Has Mark Davis slipped into a coma ? Time to void another bad, Reggie contract, Mark.

Raiders are as poorly coached as ever. The offensive line is a complete failure. Three weeks in a row with 15 yards or less running the ball in the first half. That has nothing to do with falling behind in score, as previously suggested. It should be unacceptable on every level.

Q: Why does an 0-9 team punt from mid-field on 4th and inches? Isn't that a no-brainer?

But, hey, we get another year with Kalif Barnes! He must have been a top priority of McKenzie's.

That's progress, right?

I agree NY. Except that a mild breeze might have come by, and knocked all our weak 0-linemen over.

And by the way. Donks didn't look like world beaters today, did they ?

Only the Raiders are still doormats for P. Manning.

The Raiders have led in the second half in one game this year.

Next year we will have two new starting CBs for the third year in a row and new d-line for the second year in a row.

The Raiders are way worse than last year and its completely 100% Reggie's fault.

Go Oak, deswpite that I'm thinking that they won't win at all this year, and that's because it's not 2016. From the first play, the botched snap, at least they'll be an honor to the memory of Steve Sabol and the future of the football funnies. Take, no clown, please, because the last thing the nation needs now is a pack of angry clowns. What parable might be worse than playing like a car full of clowns? Hmm, perhaps toy with this notion for the rest of the season. This is beyond clown. Good job though, D. I'm impressed with that half... OTB, the patient one...
