We just got played by a superstar wide receiver--and by a Jaguars practice squad receiver. What a week! But how about that first drive tonight? Winning heals everything. GO RAIDERS!
I have never seen Derek Carr play so angry. Go find the video of him walking into the stadium tonight, he looked pissed off, he played pissed off, and I love it! I hope he continues this, and we ride this victory and shut the Chiefs up next week. Big game, and the start of a long road trip after this week, gotta get a win. Make the world a better place, punch the DONCOS & CHEFS in the face!
Damn that was a good win. Really proud of the team, they showed a lot of character and controlled the game from the 1st drive.
So the Gruden hater/s think Gruden is in over his head? That he ruined a good roster that went 6-10/4-12? Didn't look that way at all, looks liike Gruden had the team ready to go after dealing with the nutbar situation. Looks like the team has come together rather than fractured after the situation.
Raiders looking pretty darn good in week 1, Carr looked excellent now he has some real protection, rookies look great, F.A.'s look good, this roster is much better than the last few years.
If they can get a win next week, what ya going to do when the Raiders run wild on you?
What a difference a year can make. Raiders were prepared!
Carr was more than prepared, he was intensely determined. No better example than when he stepped up in the pocket to avoid what should have been a sack and threw to Renfrow near the goal.
Waller looks like the real deal. In one game he topped his receptions from last year... and looked unstoppable in the process. (We kinda' knew that watching him at the end of last year.)
In this game Williams and Grant looked like huge upgrades at WR. No question we lost a step losing Brown but nobody should miss him.
Josh Jacobs! He's never been a feature back but it looked like he's been doing it all along. Ingold and the O-line did a great job making holes, but that pass to Jacobs out of the backfield showed his quickness and speed. And great job with ball security.
Mauro was a guy Gruden cut at one point after the initial roster was set. Raiders were lucky to get him back. He started and set the tone of the game for the defense. Raiders won the war in the trenches on both sides of the ball.
Burfict is legit. He was QB-ing the D and making plays. What a relief to have a MLB.
Defense spent a lot of time on the field, especially around the half. That's just how the game went, but they became visibly tired later in the game. They will get into game shape.
Secondary was clearly upgraded, and more man coverage was just what the Raiders needed. Hope Conley is okay. They will need all hands next week.
Referees were a joke! They had one bad call after another (both against and in favor of the Raiders). Raiders should have had 4 sacks but the officials took one away.
Need to soak this in. Best all around performance I can remember for a long time.
I heard this morning that Neiron Ball has passed away at the age of 27. Though it is a proud day, it now becomes a sad day. I never knew what happened to him, and why (after one season) he didn't stick with the Raiders. His health. I never knew until this morning. Prayers for his family.
