Broncos Gameday Thread

The next time a team calls to discuss a trade for a star wide receiver (ie: Randy Moss, Antonio Brown, Davante Adams...), how about we just hang up the phone, m'kay?

GO RAIDERS!

Minshew is not balling and neither are the Raiders do you have any idea of how much the NFL wants S. Peyton to win this game?

NY Raider said(in the Brown's section) "And why does AP need to reveal anything to fans or media?"

You're right NY, no-, he shouldn't tell us his game plan but he should tell us something about the Raiders' plans for this year with personnel and if they have changes coming to the roster or staff if they have a plan to make changes in the starting units or to get matchup against certain teams or if they were going to change some of the teams' game plans for offense or/ and the defense. No, he doesn't have to tell us his game plan but whether they are going to make changes to try and compete with teams.

Raiders can't overcome the combination of injuries and bad coaching. Getsy looked like he might have some chops early on, then went right back to his pathetic runs on 1st and 2nd downs, leaving us 3rd and long. It played right into the strength of the Broncos defense.

Al Anon, are you really suggesting the Raiders tell us their intentions?

Are you that ridiculous?

When did Al ever explain anything?

They lack the most important position on the field. QB! They depleted their RB position, now look to deplete WR. They have key injuries at DE and safety, and now Wilkins is injured.

I guess it's possible if they keep this up, they might not need any outside help getting into the top of the draft.

Hey Raidernation! sorry again NY I don't always make say what I really mean. What I mean is all teams will sometimes make it known they have something going on to help the roster get better or the staff come up with a game plan. So they'll say they might make moves with starters or back ups or bring in new players or the staff may need to change their game plan(s) to be better at dealing with other teams' game plans.

No they just refuse to use the talent they have then, they won't go out and get any. A.P. is now the problem?

You know

The AFC West is L.V.'s first challenge!

Did you see what having pro bowl CBs' can do for a team? Wow! oh how the Raiders need TIME to see how their young players will do. wouldn't a veteran CB be able to help them learn a little more? wow NY! you and your "bad decisions" claims- these are money saving moves the Raiders don't have a lot of motivation to make big moves it's like they don't think it will help them. Yet they want you to support a playoff run! they don't make moves to save money.

To NY Raider,

Al-Anon

Denver is on top of the world after should be Raiders HC S. Peyton finally beat the hated Raiders! ummmmm- HaRayyyy!

Wow!

Wait, maybe some of that senile, dysfunctional and terrible GM Al Davis might have the answer for the Raiders' losing!-

1. get some DBs' spend big on a unemployed star FA CB!

2. try to beat AFC West teams first then you can make a run for a wildcard, maybe a division title in a few years.

3. SPEED!!!!! get some speed on the DL, secondary and WR!!!

What happened! we weren't elite/ even a wild card contender but we had something to hope in/ talk about. But suddenly things are sinking fast/ becoming a joke:

A.P. is the mediocre HC!

pro bowl WR wants to traded(D. Adams) and now the bad guy to some fans in Raidernation.

Raiders still don't know how to find depth on the DL to rest Wilkins and Crosby.

Media is claiming Raiders might take less for D. Adams.

Raiders might trade him to an AFC West team.

They may draft a 'Franchise' QB next year and they want to make a playoff run next year?

Can't seem to put play makers on the field.

Seems to be focused on profit over football.

losing for years but overcharging a loyal fan base for season tickets.

If the Raiders trade Davante, and they will, they need to get a QB and draft picks. Send Davante to Atlanta for Penix and a 4th Rounder, while Atlanta is in love with Cousins.

Or to New Orleans for Jake Haener or Spencer Ratller and picks, or to Minnesota for Brett Rypien and picks.
Getsy is the new Greg Olson, vanilla play calls. Will get creative enough to get a lead, and then play not to lose.

The original idea was the Raiders would have AP and to team him with two strong coordinators. AP would motivate, while the OC and DC would game plan and Raiders would have a chance.

Very apparent now that Raiders are in way over their heads in AFC west. Raiders "Plan", as usual, has rolled off the tracks. Reid, Harbough, and Peyton, are going to chew the Raiders up, and spit them out at every turn.

A few years ago, Raiders traded Amari Cooper to Dallas for a 1st round pick. What have the Raiders built since then ? NOTHING.

So now Raiders will trade Devante Adams, and what will the Raiders build from that ? NOTHING

I've said many times, the Raiders pathetic organization is led by one man, Mark Davis. He lacks vision, and does not know what he is doing. Every one he hires to be a GM, or a coach, is simply an extension of himself.

The Raiders are mired in failure, and every move they make, be it a trade, a draft pick, or a free agent signing, will fail as well.

Nate, Greg Olsen had Derek Carr, who had the freedom to change or even call plays. We've regressed from those days.

AP's success at the end of last season was organic. The team, with mostly Josh McDaniels coaches, stepped up and created an undeniable chemistry.

That's gone!

As soon as I saw Powers-Johnson as a pulling guard I knew the Raiders were doomed yesterday. The kid can't even see out of his helmet. I would assume JPJ only goes in one direction and at one speed.

The evidence is starting to pile up, the Raiders can't dump Jacobs and Adams and remain competitive, especially, with bad play calling.

This has gone south! Fast!!

Oh no you don't, No you don't

You guys said

1. a modern staff will build a winner.
2. you win with NFL way/ Patriots' way football by coaching and good athletes with passion.
3. Reggie was going to turn this mess' around.

Del Rio was going to

Gruden II was going

Bissicia should've been kept as HC.

McDaniels/ Ziegler were going to bring the dynasty culture here and the Championship attitude and staff.

You guys said-

Stop talking about Al's era

Al ruined Raiders

Gannon and

Having hired Shaw(Stanford HC), Harbaugh has nothing to do with how good Al was at hiring staff.

Using Al's ideas/ vision won't help this team.

The NFL/ owners didn't do anything to the Raiders it's crazy and paranoid to say that.

We don't need to spend on more star players we already have some. We don't need speed or to sign star FAs'. It didn't help Al

Reggie gonna win
McDaniels/ Zielger gonna turn it around and get us some great players.
Gruden/ Mayock gonna turn Carr into a star and bring back days like the old Raiders but in a different more NFL way without the Al influence.
A.P. gonna show everybody, we gonna support him and his regime. he is the man and he's gonna come with "ill intent"!

Wow! oh no Raidernation! you said you would support these regimes, now you want to attack them! wow! A.P. was the next winning HC now he's somebody who needs to go.

Gruden II would fix a mess and get the offense going now he's a embarrassment, maybe a racist and maybe a phony- he may be really a mediocre HC.

Del Rio led us to the playoffs he was a defensive minded HC but well, Gruden II was being rumored to come back and well, thanks but we want Gruden II.

Ziegler and McDaniels just don't criticize-give them time they may make us a championship team- what are they now? bad front office guys who don't know how to run a team and MD was right for getting rid of them.

Wow! Raidernation!

You can talk about Al's Moss trade which was a scam and a disgrace by the NFL- they all got together except GB and maybe Dallas and refused to deal with Al unless he traded Moss to the Patriots.

Now they're doing it again. The Raiders could just let this guy walk at the end of the year and make him play or sit out. But instead teams are telling them to give up an elite player for nothing? and you don't think this is a conspiracy?

NY Raider! you know good and well they- THEY NFL teams don't get together and tell 1 team. None of us will give you what you want so you have to take less. But they just did it.

Wow! Raidernation!

So what do we do next?

Keep A.P.

Fire A.P.?

Keep Telesco?

Draft a QB in the 1st round next year?

Make AOC the starter for next year?

Trade or release Z. White?

Trade Maxx?

Release C. Wilkins?

trade K. Miller?

Wow! again! a new regime! didn't give them the talent to win! more drama! fans not happy with the HC! fans not happy with the GM!

And NY's wants us to-

its' just these guys

Harbaugh will build a

S. Peyton they want him to win! he's not Shanahan I think he liked Al but he sure is trying to make it seem he didn't want to work for him. Denver's D is getting better and maybe that will carry them.

K.C. is an NFL favorite and I don't see them slipping much.

But Mark isn't the problem. Its' the NFL and some these billionaire owners. They're trying to keep the Raiders in line and they don't seem to care if they win or lose.

D. Adams goes to NYJs' they start winning. It's the biggest story of the year. Raiders start pointing fingers.

Once again its' all Mark's fault. So why not sell more stock maybe somebody else can make moves you know like the Warriors' ownership group. Al's last trace of Raiders will be finally gone or just a part of the business not the owners anymore. that'll solve our problems. finally, the NFL will say they like us! we'll be treated better but wait! wonder if we don't mind staying home- you know the prices will go much higher and a wealthier fan base from other parts of the world should have a chance to go to the games. you guys can help by helping the owners who own stakes in the cable NFL networks make money- you're great fans but stay home and support us(Raiders) on t.v. oh, they'll win because the league is going to make sure of it. but Raidernation! it'll be a business with no culture just some people who took over a once great franchise. fans thinking they got it bad should at lease know they aren't fools to keep supporting a scam. fans supporting them either don't care or may not been fans of the old Raiders anyway but they'll be supporting a scam. they'll get a team that was once great.

So I guess it wouldn't do any good to try and talk Adams into staying the rest of the year would it? no, that something Al might've tried. but then again, they knew they weren't going to get him the help he needed to help us win. now, Al wouldn't let any players run his business and force him to over pay and he'd trade them if they really wanted to go, but he'd probably negotiate longer and try to talk them into staying. he wouldn't trade a great player everytime he'd even deal with them holding out and not play than trade them but if they still wouldn't play and he would probably trade them.

So we can trade a star but refuse to bring any in?

They really need to rest Crosby forget pro bowl and stats now that he's signed get him some talent to help him!

1. a speed rusher- a back up edge that can come in and give him a rest.

2. a star veteran DE a guy who can replace Koonce if they decide to trade him.

Help J. Jones.

1. sign a star veteran CB to start on the other side.

2. draft a decent S to back up Moehrig.

the LB situation makes no sense. they can't really do a good job stopping the run using only 2 LBs'.

1. draft an OLB that can stop the run.

2. sign a veteran OLB to start as the 3rd LB.

3. draft a cover LB(a guy who can cover RBs' and TEs' in the passing game).

The Steelers at least will be a better match up the Broncos were terrible for almost the first half.

I wonder just how much the NFL things fans will buy? That was ridiculous that pick 6. That terrible Broncos' offense and even with a injury hit defense was still bad.

Funny thing is Denver was honoring a legend(LB Randy Gradishar) and had an 8 game losing streak against the Raiders.

Yea, just the best team won? bad decisions or is the NFL tampering especially using the Raiders as a "feel good story" beat up/ thing for other teams?

I may be a conspiracy guy but Denver did little to win that game and its funny the just happen to be wearing throwbacks and honoring Gradishar.

I didn't think Al/ Raiders could have caused so much pain and suffering to the NFL that they still are intimidated and hostile toward the team.

It looks like we are going after more of the heroes of our '24 season. For some reason some of you guys seem to think its' just mistaking this team for a contender when you saw they didnt' have the roster to compete with K.C. you

On 1 hand you say you are all in with the game plan then, when they suck its' hey!, they're not playing or coaching well when the fact is they are doing what they've been told by the NFL to not spend or bring in elite players. why? I know they are still hostile/ don't trust the real Raiders but its' also maybe a game plan get new stakeholders to invest more in the team. MD can't do anything so maybe some wealthy partners might help what run the team? bring in star players- I thought most teams would try that anyway to fill holes/ add depth or add X-factor(s)? you mean they haven't figured that out yet but some investors might know how to do it?

Don't know Al?:

Al wouldnt' talk to his players? drama queens(kings) or calm guys. a guy like Adams is a star and you don't think he'd deal with their attitudes or actions to try and get them to stay?

why are you using Al's attitude "Adams is dead to the Raiders' org." why? I thought that was Al's attitude when he felt betrayed by somebody? you mean Telesco, MD or A.P. don't know how to talk to guys?

And why does AP need to reveal anything to fans or media?

11:18 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

NY Raiders said- "And why does AP need to reveal anything to fans or media?"

Because he doesn't but he's not saying anything to give us any idea that they are trying to fix issues or what players they have on the roster to help make changes in weaker/ mediocre units.

Or if he plans to make changes in the O or D staff or their game plans.

Now that's not giving up secrets. And its' not helping other teams spy. Its' just letting fans know they have a plan.

The Raiders are giving out info its' just about D. Adams none sense.

They should talk to the fans, they are giving out info and showing stress, frustration and issues inside the Raiders and the NFL and media are helping make it worse.

A.P. is showing a strict, discipline and hard side but its' looking like being tough instead of talking to players. it's like some generic old school HCs' who didn't take much from players and would go so far then deal with them. but its' not really doing much to get team motivated.

BUSINESS DECISIONS Part 5
The AFC West and Raiders' decisions.

The AFC West: everybody got better. and the thing is 2 teams are rebuilding. L.V. saw this this off season and after firing the 'Pats' guys' didn't have a HC or GM.

the Broncos had S. Peyton in his 2nd year but also, a new ownership and seemed to be having a fire sale.

There were some big names hanging out there

J. Harbaugh

B. Belichick

N. Saban

* J. Gruden

But L.V. stuck with A.P. thinking his toughness would get the Raiders motivated. then they hired LAC's GM' T. Telesco it seemed a little quick but the guess it was to have a quick hire who actually has years of experience as a GM.

In the draft '24:

K.C. drafted a small, track/ world class speed WR- this is supposed to be very bad for a team and something Al did a lot and its' not supposed to help a team much.

LAC's surprised everybody and ignored a WR and drafted an OL star. they got a WR in the 2nd round and now they have 1 of the best young OLs' in the NFL.

Broncos: made some fans upset and it was a surprise but some experts thought they might draft this QB- Bo Nix well, he's not Elway or Manning but he looks like he's getting better it may take a little time though. what they did was take an edge- J. Ellis and he's doing well.

Denver has S. Peyton

LAC's have J. Harbaugh

K.C. has A. Reid

Is it me or well, is it like the Raiders not only get the worst of the deals in trades but seem to like to take less or do less?

They didn't check Telesco they just hired him. They hired a great defensive staff but they refused to get much talent to make it work.

They hired A.P. and it wasn't that bad but why put him in that situation without the personnel to make the team win? and why not interview the elite HCs'?

Yep! this is why I have issues with the "new" Raiders and why I think they need to make huge changes and not just with players.

Al Anon, YOU DON'T KNOW AL.

You just shoot off randomly without thinking. Words are there but nothing is said. Frankly, your posts sound like you are blaming us (fans), and me in particular. I'm in the cheap seats.

BUSINESS DECISIONS part 6

Al-Anon

When the NFL wants something some teams jump!

Hey I got a "Feel Good" story for you. The mediocre Raiders trade an unhappy WR to the mediocre NYJs' who have his old buddy and they go on a playoff run! while the Raiders get some draft picks and maybe a veteran and continue their mediocrity.

A Rodgers and Adams combo/ reunion making the season far more interesting than it already is is great for ratings. But in Las Vegas its' mediocrity, bickering strange moves and maybe dysfunction! same 'ol Raiders bad decisions a 'feel bad/ comedy' story.

NY, this makes no sense! we need Adams if we are to have any chance at a playoff run and just because he wants to leave the Raiders should make him play or sit out the season!

This isn't the first time this has happened and you guys always side with the Raiders when they are wrong! You say there's only bad decisions this isn't a bad decision this is outright collusion!!! its' collusion!!! oh, just give Adams away and let a contender make the playoffs while we do what?- draft a franchise QB in next years' draft? this team is not half as bad as they seem and the NFL is not half as innocent as you make them! anybody can see NOW that the NFL is trying to scam the Raiders for a "Feel Good" story.

2:59 PM

Al would've condemned Adams? Yes, he MIGHT- or, he might try to talk him into staying. We know how mean or short he could be to people he thought were disloyal. A guy like Adams could carry an offense or help it out. Now after listening to A.P. I don't think he is the kind to talk to anybody much. Al talked to his players! Al didn't just get angry and get rid of guys when they wanted to leave. sometimes he tried to talk them into staying.

Raidernation is loyal! they listened to the media and NFL's side of the story after Al's 9 year slump. they decided that any other way was a winning system but not Al's anymore!

They are still waiting for a playoff win. They didn't think that the NFL or owners had disliked them after Al had passed- for what? the fans want to be part of the NFL/ get along and want to see Raiders win-, the league don't have a reason to still have problems with them(Raidernation)-do they?

4:07 PM
Blogger nyraider said...

"Al might talk [Adams] into staying."

Really?

You're going deeper into that rabbit hole. You half retreat because you know it's not true, then you double down.

Worse, your plan keeps changing. On one hand, you say the Raiders need to blow it up and start over (something Al would never do). On the other, you want them to keep a cap-breaking player who clearly doesn't want to stay.

Adams thought he was coming to a winning program. The Raiders didn't hold to their end of the deal. Can't blame him to want to leave. The Raiders have no QB. He's wasting his time in LV.

Maxx Crosby and other players are done with Adams. But for some reason, you're still clinging to him.

Raiders have an opportunity to get draft capital, and it might include them paying part of Adams salary.

Hopefully, they don't take any of your advice.

NY Raider,

Al-Anon

So Al wouldn't try and talk a star into staying?

When did the Raiders get so strict/ tough that they get rid of guys because they made business decisions or betrayed them? There are some coaches/ teams who have done that but they probably were winning, the Raiders getting rid of another star player as if its going to bother him is a joke! you are that into loyalty? really? the new Raiders?

They over charge fans for season tickets, they get rid of guys who want to help the team(mostly Al's guys) win, they refuse to build a top roster and they'll fire loyal employees(mostly Al's) and you think they should get rid of Adams?

You guys listen to complete none sense and the NFL screws you every year but you stay loyal to them! the Raiders can come up some of the most ridiculous and incompetent plans but yet you don't feel that they've screwed you over.

"When did the Raiders get so strict/ tough that they get rid of guys because they made business decisions or betrayed them?"

Are you for real? Is that really a question you want answered?

Al Davis benched players for far less.

Adams is done. He won't risk injury for the Raiders and the Raiders don't want him distracting the team.

It's time you stop doubling down on foolishness.

Are you serious? Marcus Allen, JaMarcus Russell, Todd Marinovich, Randy Moss, Richard Seymour, Antonio Clown, Robert Gallery, Charles Woodson, Nnamdi Asmough, Darius Heyward-Bey, Khalil Mack, Amari Cooper, Chester McGlockton, Darrell Russell, Jared Veldheer, Mike Shannahan, Lane Kiffin, Tom Cable, Hue Jackson, Norv Turner, Bill Callahan, and Jon Gruden (the first time). Let's not forget Bruce Allen, Ron Wolf, Reggie McKenzie, and Amy Trask as executives.

1:30 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

A. Brown thanks from the Patriots

R. Moss- NFL scheme to get him to Patriots so a playoff would boost ratings, no owner would give Al fair trade. B. Farve begged Packers to trade for him I think a #2 was the asking price and they said "NO". The NFL did that! an elite WR but nobody else but the Patriots wanted him for a ridiculous price?

Al sat Marcus for wrong reasons and should've traded him he was wrong for what he did. The Raiders should sit Adams for the right reasons. let him sit out don't help another team make the playoffs. take the money ask him to play or sit. he can help the team or sit at home the rest of the season.

Russell, DHB, Gallery and Marinovich were busts what does that have to do with betrayal?

Gruden II you threw coach Del Rio under for him- then when he gets in trouble you not only do the same to him but claim Bissicia was a better HC.

C-Wood was a poster child for haters, he wasn't really a great player until the great Packers turned him into 1. it wasn't the Raiders help at all.

Nnamdi- oh, no Al didn't have any talent over those 9 years. we all know Reggie and the Pats' guys had far better CBs' than him.

Shanahan, Turner, Kiffin all had the talent to win. But coach Shanahan did things to upset Al. Kiffin was in a bad situation that wasn't his and maybe not all Al's fault.

McGlockton was a outstanding player for years. Russell had big issues and if only he could've overcome his problems he might be a Raiders' legend.

Hue was hired becasue he could score points. BTW- he had some things to say about that wonderful Browns' job that made you say he was a bad HC.

Callighan- naaaaaahhh, theres no conspiracies! if you don't like your boss or care about the players and make a ridiculous statement years(the Raiders are the "dumbest team in America"!) knowing they are still the defending AFC Champions and you're the HC. then maybe its' more than what we understand or saw.

Bruce Allen left with Gruden but he was an assistant GM to Al.

Ron Wolfe was a outstanding GM but AL was a legend.

AOC? well, that'll help! now they could make a trade for Mariota.
TP2 would be a great move a guy that could play WR and QB. maybe he will be a good citizen and just show some good NFL level throwing.

HBCU players: there are a lot of HBCU stars who weren't drafted- well, there's a lot of UDFA's out there but the Raiders could steal some very good players from the HBCU to build for next year.

Omai Hill Robinson a cb with size and speed issues- yea can you believe it I'm supporting a guy whose a little short and maybe a little slow. Robinson is about 5'10" and ran a 4.6 but he was the best/ top 5 CB in the HBCU. maybe the Raiders should take a look at him.

AFC West: the Raiders have to sweep K.C. and win the rest of the their divisional games for that wildcard spot. the problem is they want to hype a system that isn't doing anything for them. trying to be like Belichick and coach up guys is o.k. if you are good at it/ have the players to do it but maybe some Al Davis era might help too.

D. Adams they should trade him for a 1st or a 2nd and a veteran. they could let him sit if he won't play but a 2nd rounder would be o.k.

He only played 4 years with the Raiders
Every person I mentioned, whether they were busts, let go, signed with another team, etc. All made "Business decisions" which includes not studying film and putting in the work, signing for another team for more $$, getting traded, fired, cut, removed from office for disagreements with Al or in Amy Trask's case, Mark Davis and their decisions. Those are all "business decisions."
Davante Adams is making a business decision about the offensive game plan and not wanting to be a part of a "rebuild" anymore and demands a trade. If someone doesn't want to be on your team, and you force them to stay, they become a cancer. Get rid of the cancer.

Yea but how many teams would be happy with that unhappy player(Adams)? and just why is it that since '07, other teams have fleeced/ jobbed the Raiders in trades for star players?

And since '07 the Raiders have had some of the best star players(WRs' mostly) and traded them for little in return. Its' almost as if teams expect them to give up stars for almost nothing/ little in return.

IMO- think the NFL has been creating drama and "feel good" stories using us. the dysfunctional Raiders trade unhappy or expensive star player to team it gets out of it's losing streak(if it's losing) and makes the playoffs. does this remind you of any past Raiders' moves and history?

They(teams) must be shocked D. Adams is still on the team and that L.V. is asking for a 2nd round pick. which still is to me is-, a little casual.

I don't think a lot of teams would go for this! why is it the Raiders always have to get 'screwed'/ jobbed and help other teams?

Al gave the Patriots a 1st rounder for R. Seymore.

Al sent R. Moss to the Patriots and got a 4th round pick.

It's a fair question. I can explain it to you.

First, any marriage is a two-way street. "Star players" don't stay with the Raiders because they want to win. Any promise of winning the Raiders made to get the star player to sign a contract never comes to fruition. (A breach by both parties.)

Which leads to the answer you are searching for. The Raiders regularly overpay for your so-called "star players" meaning, when that player decides to leave (via trade or other) their contract is cap-prohibitive for another team to take on. Contracts are often back-loaded and heavily inflated by the time players flee the Raiders, and other teams can't afford it.

So, the Raiders shoot the moon for these players, then get nothing in return, and sometimes end up with massive dead cap space which they are still on the hook for.

But you want more "star players" to be signed. You don't see the Raiders history and the cycle repeating itself over and over and over.

The solutions you repeat here, ad nauseum, have already proven to fail.

Anonymous Anonymous said...

Maybe you're right-, I didn't really think about the cap thing! but the Raiders seem to go South/ Slide really quickly after their marriage falls apart/ breaks up. While the other team has a come back, reloads or finds their X-factor and makes a playoff run.

Funny thing is the Raiders somehow end up paying by losing the rest of that season(of the trade) and I wonder if they don't have to also deal with the contract?

They get some draft picks, they get rid of a 'cancer' and they get a lot of criticism from media/ fans.

But after the divorce its' usually the other teams who benefit while we just go through another long run of mediocrity. but the funny thing is I don't see these other teams letting the Raiders get a player and not deal with the contract too.

So then

Draft a "Franchise QB"

Let A.P. keep his Belichick imitation.

bring in system players and avoid drafting elite college stars.

coach 'em up don't get too many star free agents

keep the salary cap down-don't sign any expensive star free agents.

sign good not elite/ star free agents.

when guys ask to be traded- just trade them!

Don't motivate the front office to get the secondary, DL and OL rebuilt into elite areas, just let the units go until it gets better or they need to make changes or it gets really bad.

Let the coaches coach, don't move them to other areas if they aren't doing well or worry if the team isn't doing well just sit back let them handle their units.

That's not a very good idea is it? but that's some of the things the "new" Raiders have done the past years.

We need to see the Raiders make good decisions and try to build a winning team. They need to get some star players, push their coaches and spend big. Using Al's ideas and other legend's might help.

I'll be the first to say I don't know, but neither do the Raiders, apparently.

My armchair opinion is a fallback to what AP and Champ Kelly said last year, they should start in the trenches (pointing a finger at the O-line).

I'm squarely against spending money for the sake of it. The guy telling us the Raiders need "star players" thinks Marcus Mariota is a star.

But guys like Davante Adams are an expensive luxury for a good team which, for some reason, continues to elude the Raiders (20+ years).

Raiders might be facing another rebuild, fifth one since Al died (AP is the 8th HC since then). With all the HCs and GMs that have tried, nobody can draft. That's where "star players" come from, IMO, or at least originate. Star players are sometimes like stock. When they excel it's a shiny object you want to have, but by the time you buy one, it's too late. But if you're smart and draft well, you can find them before money becomes their priority. (In fairness to Adams, he's past the money phase, he just wants to win... which the Raiders can't offer him).

Raiders need a QB, but they also need to find more Robert Spillanes and Jack Jones. These guys did not come to the Raiders as "stars."

Injuries have decimated the Raiders this year. It will be a small miracle if they can hold it together. Luke Getsy has grossly underperformed, and even Patrick Graham can't find the magic he had last year with mostly the same players.

Different year, same results.

To Raidernation,

Al-Anon

O.K. then what about match ups an X-factors NY? what if they try using speed?- make T. McAllister a RB and see if he can make big runs. then, since Wilkins is out and Crosby is having problems sign a veteran NG and a DE/ edge to fill in holes left by Wilkins and move T. Wilson back to DT?

The secondary is the biggest problem on the defense they need help. they should sign a FA veteran CB to help J. Jackson the Raiders love to say how good their back up guys are but I don't think so! They need help!

The staff maybe they could share some ideas with OC Getsy, he is the OC but maybe other coaches can have some say over game plans.

QB? I think Minshew should be the starter he gives us the best chance to win. AOC needs more time and may be a good QB in the future but Minshew is our best chance to win.

1:45 PM
Blogger nyraider said...

I disagree with everything you said above.

Raiders have Adam Butler behind Wilkins. He's better than any FA on the market, and they signed Matthew Butler to the roster (for depth) and brought in another DT to the PS. Do you read Raiders news?

Raiders have three starting CBs. Bennett, Jones and Hobbs. That's a better trio than a lot of teams have. Most of the breakdowns I've seen this year have been scheme, e.g., soft zone coverage. And when the Raiders play two deep safeties, they're usually in Siberia. Teams mostly beat them underneath their coverage. A vet CB is welcome (and the Raiders can certainly afford a one-year deal) but it won't help the underlying problem, IMO.

Apparently, you didn't see McAllister get hammered on two tackles last week. He's too small to be a RB. He's a utility player, at most. Sure, he's fast. Give him the ball and hope he doesn't get killed.

Speed is useless without a good O-line. Raiders need to figure out protecting the QB and run blocking. O-line should be the top priority for the entire organization. Scheme is at least part of the problem...

Which leads to Getsy. I'd guess Getsy is already getting his ass kicked a little for his failures so far this year. He had no answers for the Broncos after the first Q. He's not a quality coach. Ask any Bears fan.

Finally, Minshew will never be a super bowl QB. AOC probably isn't the guy either, but he has more upside than Minshew. It's not even close, and that's why Minshew is out. Minshew has a weak arm and he's slow to make his reads and get rid of the ball. But I get it. In your mind, he's a "star" because he went to the Pro Bowl last year.

Raiders will be lucky to survive the season. Best scenario is if AOC can advance his skills at QB and be a legit stopgap to a franchise QB in 1-2 years.

Put it this way, the difference between CJ Stroud or Jayden Daniels and any Raiders QB for the past 10+ years is night and day.

Let's hope AP can hold it together long enough for the Raiders to find a QB, or we'll be adding another HC and rebuild to that growing list. I don't imagine either Harbough will be available on the next go-around.

To NY Raider,

Al-Anon

The Raiders need depth and if Butler was really that good why sign Wilkins o.k. maybe Wilkins would be a pass rusher and DT but the Raiders need help.

CBs?: they don't have a good secondary. Jones needs help. Maybe Bennett will be a good player later but he isn't ready yet. Hobbs is a good back up and good player but he's not ready to start either.

Speed gives other teams' a problems: the Raiders don't have a lot of stars so they need something to give DCs' stress and plan for and maybe surprise them with a play maker.

QBs?: Minshew is our best chance to win. AOC may be a good QB or even a star later-, he may have accuracy and is strong but he's also slower and a little stiffer than Minshew. He may be a starter later but Minshew is our best chance to win.

Stroud and Daniels?: Even if we had those guys would the Raiders build around them? we had Carr and Mariota and the Raiders refused to keep either one. you think they'd drafted one of those guys if they could? maybe, but they don't seem to think they need elite players. they might draft them but would they spend on stars to help them win?

AOC may or may not suck but the Raiders surely didn't feel they needed to make a lot of moves before this game! You can't get away from your claims now! you can change them yes but not pretend like you guys weren't supporting this regime. it's not just the losing its' the fact they continue with this Bellichick/ NFL way system where they don't think they need more stars than other teams to win because they can motivate, lead and discipline guys.

The NFL sure pulled a number on Raidernation! you've totally trusted them and they continue to show they really don't like us a lot! I guess now you think we should just trade Adams and try to get draft picks so we can do what? get a QB in the draft? how bout getting star players and making some staff changes, not firing guys but putting them on the hot seat and-, maybe giving some different jobs.

Then, they could use Adams and sign some star free agents and make a playoff run- with Minshew as QB.

AOC is who he is, a 4th round pick trying to get acclimated to the NFL. Nobody should be surprised.

What I saw was a terrible game plan, just like every week. How many times did Getsy actually plan to run right at JT Watt? Watt schooled the Raiders today. The Raiders offense is so predictable, I could call a defense against them.

The bigger question is, when does Mark Davis start to inject himself and make things even worse?

The Raiders should be embarrassed. I know I am. Getsy shouldn't be allowed back in the building.

The NFL wants money they can they want cooperation too. the Raiders can't win I wonder why? just what do we have to do. we are mediocre and have average athletes like NY said we should. we got modern NFL people. we got a QB AOC like Nate said we needed. If the Raiders TANK a new partnership can get it's franchise' QB. sad, we used to be about winning or trying to win. now we want to screw ourselves by copying the people who screwed us/ Al. get a clue!...the NFL wants us to TANK, they are trying to get new partners with more power and they want us to go for it! tell the NFL to leave the Davis family alone! no team keeps losing like this unless something is going on.

It doesn't matter if Getsy is fired. Raiders have the worst GM, the worst coaches, the worst home field, the worst players.

And how did the Raiders get all this ? Because they have the worst owner in professional sports, that's how.

So go ahead, fire Getsy, replace the Qb, get a high draft pick for Adams. Nothing will matter as long as Mark Davis is the owner running the show. he has been the Raiders owner for 14 years, and he actually is getting even worse.

Yeah, looks like Raider take has checked out, and will all should check out. Not until Getsy is fired, but until Mark Davis sells the Raiders to someone with a brain.

Rumor out there that the Raiders offered 3 first round picks to the Commanders for their #2 pick in the draft, which the Commanders turned down and selected Jayden Daniels.

Ironically, the Commanders OC (Kliff Kingsbury) was the Raiders first choice (before Getsy) and he turned them down.

The Raiders look like a clown show right now. There's nothing AP or his coaches can say in pressers that carry any credibility.

Guys you can't blame the coaches when you have third stringers playing, terrible o-line and a horrible qb. Hey, Raidernation! don't give up yet! we can turn this around! we are Raidernation! we are in a tough situation but we will keep cheering for the Raiders! they can do something to get ready for next years' draft but we can cheer for them to finish with a winning record.

rumor- 3 first rounders?: They wouldn't pay a big contract or trade a draft pick for veteran CBs' why would they make that kind of trade.

Ghost Ship?: the owner? how is it Mark's fault. remember?- media/ Raidernation said the Raiders didn't need a 'meddling' owner. Mark doesn't make football decisions he was ADVISED to hire these people. he's not a football man, any owner that don't make football decisions isn't to blame for football game decisions.

Nate- real fans checking out'? quitting on the team? that's what the owners want! it'll be easier to bring in new stake holders and start the change from the Davis family to a corporation! it might win but the culture and the real Raiders' vision will be gone. it will be about making money and maybe Raidernation should question moving on from the Davis family with the way the regimes seem to like to erase Al's history from the team.

The Raiders DIDN'T try to get ANY big name HCs'!: again, every time media/ NFL comes out with some idea/ ADVISE about the Raiders' rebuild you guys listen- why would you guys/ media say the Raiders should just hire A.P. and not bother interviewing Bellichick, Harbaugh or Saban? they weren't going to hire Kingsbury! this team is set on mediocrity but its' for a reason.

Getsy may be mediocre but its' not him. you guys again supported their QB plans knowing we were supposed to be ready for a playoff run. now how did you figure Minshew and AOC could lead us to the playoffs? they may turn out to be decent-good QBs' but the Raiders should've tried to find a good QB.

other Anon: the team refused to sign star FA's(except C. Wilkins) and the media hyped the new regime and you guys again, listened. they could've had more depth but refused to do it. fans listened to it and maybe they should ask the Raiders to try Al's way.

BUSINESS DECISIONS part 8

To Raidernation!,

Minshew was a questionable decision it was cheap and unfair to Minshew. a new OL and run game and you just get a back up guy and make him the starter?
AOC maybe later but right now he's not ready they could've signed Minshew and another veteran and make AOC the 3rd string guy. once again a new regime comes with questionable moves and you buy the hype the media sells you.

Adams situation?: why now? he knew the Raiders situation. a staged act and it would really bring up the ratings if the went to the NYJs. Aaron Rogers and Adams take the NYJs' to the playoffs and the lowly, dysfunctional Raiders get a draft pick.

I get that the Raiders will need time to build a team (for the 5th time since Al died), especially, because they need a QB. What bothers me most is that they don't recognize their own failures. They apparently believe their coaching is fine.

Getsy's had five weeks to adjust his game plan. How many 3-and-out series did he run up the middle or right at JT Watt on 1st and 2nd down? It was insanely stupid and they kept doing it.

Today is Monday. How does Getsy still have a job?!

Getsy coached Justin Fields last year. Clearly, Fields is the better of the two.

Raiders don't have a QB, but they are far better off trying to develop AOC than to spin their wheels with Minshew. I get it, you'd happy to see Minshew win a few meaningless games (stats!). No thanks!

And please don't start the "cheap and unfair" "hurt feelings" campaign. What a joke!

And you say "Adams knew the Raiders situation." How so? He was traded to the Raiders when Derek Carr was QB and McDaniels was HC. Nothing is the same.

Well if the Raiders need a rookie QB and just some better coaches they sure have made things look much worse!

What QB the Raiders seem to listen to outsiders more but its' the news

Just why do you know want to put it all on Mark? why do you guys keep looking for this great regime or guy that's gonna fix this mess and turn the Raiders around instead of admitting maybe Al wasn't the problem back then?

Raiders took being mediocre or rebuilding and turned it into a mess and needs help from NFL, CFL and maybe an overhaul.

This is bad but there are some strange situations here. the Raiders may be getting new stake holders and if they TANK they can get their franchise QB.

If the fans think they will get people who are committed to winning they will, except the Raiders will be an NFL corporation and the league will tread them differently, better and with help.

But fans don't understand that some of the outsiders working with Raiders may be Al haters and they may not be that crazy/ happy with Raidernation.

Fans need to question new stake holders getting more say in team. the ticket sales may get higher and the Al era may be completely gone.

10:53 AM
Blogger nyraider said...

First, nobody said the Raiders "need" a rookie QB. They need a franchise QB. I don't mean to split hairs, but there's a difference. That's like saying "star players". It's meaningless, especially, if you think so highly of Marcus Mariota who has sat on the bench much of his career.

Mark Davis is the common denominator in over a decade of bad decisions, just like Al was before him.

IMO, AP should watch his back. It took less than what's happening now for Davis to inject himself last year. That's why we have Telesco and Getsy. If it were up to AP, alone, the Raiders would have likely retained Champ Kelley and Bo Hardigree... both of whom sound refreshing right now, as GM and OC, respectively.

Al Davis has been dead for over a decade. Let him RIP. Nobody is going to run the team in his image and succeed. Al couldn't do it for the last decade of his life (maybe longer) so why do you think someone else can?

We were beaten by a terrible Steelers' team and 1 guy especially! our best players wants to be traded. guys ar

fans are getting upset with Mark.
fans are starting to question A.P.
a group of investors are close to getting a part of some of the team.
and the fans once again are in sucker mode.

I bet if any other teams said they going to use some of their legendary coach's/ team's ideas their fans wouldn't act as if they got the worst ideas a team could take.

There are a lot of GMs in pro sports to listen to for advise on winning and IMO...I think Al might've been top #2 and I don't know who the other guy is.

But Raidernation don't think so, Not only did they support him stepping down(media and fan blogs while he was still GM between '03 and '11) but they've made a picture that is unfair and in some cases untrue about him. supporting a new direction and giving props to media, ex-coaches and players and the NFL who wanted to blame him and criticize his system. some even saying ridiculous stories about players not wanting to play for him, careers going to die and something in the culture/ locker room that guys didn't want to be around.

Well, the NFL looks very shady with their greed and corruption. the Raiders are not any better and in fact worse.

The team can't seem to do like Belichick, NYGs' or Steelers and lead guys instead of loading up on star talent. yet they tell a fan base how much better they are without Al or doing things the old Raiders' way.

5:54 PM
Blogger nyraider said...

Sandy, it wasn't my intention to blame AP and Telesco for short-term failures as it was to point out that AP probably would have gone another route at GM and OC if not for Mark Davis's involvement.

We can be pretty certain AP wanted Champ Kelley as GM. And it's possible Kingsbury (who's now OC of the surging Commanders) would have gotten a 3-year deal from Kelley (as Nate pointed out this was the reason he wasn't hired as the Raiders first choice to be OC). Or Bo Hardigree might still be OC (perhaps the lesser of two evils).

I have a buddy who's a diehard Bears fan. Getsy was fired as Bears OC. My buddy reached out the minute the Raiders hired him and said they made a big mistake. Getsy has done nothing to prove him wrong.

It's not about injuries. It's about competence.

Getsy pulled Mattison after the first drive (TD) against the Steelers. Mattison was the hot hand. The Raiders run game failed after that.

He also called on Laube for his first NFL carry, in a close game against the Steelers top defense. Result: Fumble.

So it's much more than injuries. We're dealing with stupid and incompetent. That's tougher to overcome than injuries. Injuries will heal.

Adams is getting traded to the Jets for a 3rd round pick (conditional 2nd rd). It's further proof the Raiders offense is in shambles.

Adams played under Getsy in GB. Safe to say, if Adams had confidence in Getsy to put the Raiders into contention, it's unlikely he would have asked for a trade. It's more than just QB play. Both Raiders QBs were capable of getting Adams plenty of opportunities, and AP has said many times the plan was always to get the ball to his best player.

Some things are as obvious as they appear.

Hey, why is the press so unfair/ tough on us? why are they saying the situation in L.V. is getting worse after trading Adams to the NYJs' man, what a strange coincidence- hey, didn't Adams and Rodgers play together before? well, maybe but anyway- the media was just a month ago hyping a top defense and a team that could make the playoffs. they claimed Adams, Bowers and if the QBs' can game manage we could keep the Raiders in games.

But now, we are suddenly back to the Al Davis days you know the worst most dysfunctional team in the NFL and its' all Marks fault. excuse me? yea because Mark didn't know how to build a football team. he was supposed to make good decisions not the new regimes that he hired. So now the fans want a change in the front office maybe a new partnership! wow!

But anyway the Adams trade! wow! he was a problem and a traitor a guy with no loyalty and he needed to go the Raiders made a great decision. Bellichick was right on! a Raider lover and a guy who loves making trades with us. Wow! trade a star WR for a 3rd pick wow and you wonder why this team is in the situation it is?

And what a strange situation, its' just funny the NYJs' got such a great deal. Hmmmm....a drama a movie a 'Feel Good' story! the NYJs' get a star player for almost nothing and the lowly, dysfunctional

Evidence? do I need it? the Raiders couldn't be that incompetent if they tried! this was a super star and should've gotten a 1st round pick.

The NYJs' have Rodgers and Adams is his friend/ ex-teammate that's a huge coincidence.

To other Anon,

Al-Anon

Anybody can see this is a scam! its not even sugar coated just give us the guy and move out of the way while the NYJs' Adams and Rodgers go to the playoffs!

There was nothing special about the Jets' offer and the Raiders frankly were forced to make the deal it was a terrible deal they shouldnt've made. They give up 2 draft picks and get a lower 1 for a star player.

The Jets have Aaron Rodgers why do I need to have bloggers

It would make the NFL a little wealthier with fans buying Adams and Rodgers NYJs' jersey's. the rating are going to go very high now. NYJs' for the first time in years will be a fan favorite.

Thanks to those lowly Raiders who can't win no matter what because 1 of the best football men, genius and icon let Gruden, Gannon go and the game changed over 1 offseason('03) and his system stopped working and he couldn't have 1 winning season for 9 years.

That's not tampering.

Adams asked to be traded.
The Raiders were actively marketing Adams.
They fielded offers from several teams.
"Experts" said the Raiders were asking too much.
Yet, they got their asking price (more or less).

That's how it works. They tested the market and made their best deal.

You live in a bubble of being totally uninformed. Did you see Amari Cooper was also traded? The Bills and Browns swapped draft picks. Raiders got a much better deal for a player whose salary will go from 16M this year to 35M next year and the following year.

You still don't understand the money aspect. For some reason, you refuse to educate yourself about how the salary cap works.

I told you before the season started the Raiders would trade Adams if the season began to sour. I didn't make that up, I just agreed with what I read. It's been talked about for months.

You act like it's something nefarious that the NFL hatched.

Give me a break!

The only thing the NFL has tampered with in regards to the Raiders is Jon Gruden. Gruden won a major hearing where the NV Supreme Court will hear his appeal. This is HUGE because it could give Gruden and his attorneys access to "discovery," something that the NFL has been fighting against. Discovery of NFL emails, specifically Commish Goodell and other owners, as to who leaked his emails. Discovery that could further implicate Dan Snyder on criminal charges. Discovery that may prove that Gruden was unfairly targeted by Goodell to be removed at all costs. This could cost Goodell his job, and depending on what is "discovered" it could cost owners to lose their teams.

Does the NFL have to say WE ENJOY SCREWING YOU and NO WE DON'T LIKE YOU or the RAIDERS!
Really we don't but we have the power of media, yes men/ women and we have you

Any fan base that constantly listens to a business/ league that hated their leader(Al) and have NEVER done ANYTHING to help the Raiders. and you think this trade wasn't a we got ya again moment for them!?

Wow! for a fan base who thinks Al and Mark ruined this team you sure are nicer to outsiders who've run this team for years.

Again! Al passed away! Mark took over, NFL/ media said their tributes after Al passed then they were excited saying a new modern NFL staff would turn this team around.

Raidernation was sad about Al passing and then they supported the media/ NFL's opinions about the future of the team.

The issue was culture, attitude and the system. they need to be good citizens. they need to cooperate with the league, no more big spending on players, no politics and getting between players and owners.

They moved us to Las Vegas to make money and to eventually get new partners for them. not to help us and if you still believe you are better off than Oakland maybe you are the 1 dwelling on the past.

Trading Adams has been on the table for months. The Raiders made their best deal and will avoid a huge payout or, worse, losing all value like they did with Carr.

You're crying foul now?? Where were you weeks or even months ago when discussion of this was all over the Internet?

You have NO proof of anything you post. There's the first clue you're full of BS.

The NFL is not running the Raiders.

Mark has failed them, so they cheer for change. Fans want to win.

Yes, Al is rolling over...

Brady stands to possibly shake things up, for better or worse. Hiring competent people, IMO, means giving them room to make decisions and develop. The problem with the current regime may be their competency. Telesco is fresh off failure and Pierce is inexperienced. And his choice of assistant coaches is now in question because they have underperformed.

I'm now scratching my head over the goal line run that was called short and the Raiders were quick to run another play and got stuffed. Many in media are saying they should have challenged the first play because it was likely a TD. Pierce now has a few of these type gaffs. They are starting to pile up.

And Adams requesting a trade wasn't exactly a vote of confidence.

I like Pierce but his choice for OC was bad. Maybe this is where Brady injects himself first... for better or worse.

The New England Raiders are doing the same show/ game plan as they've done for about 3-5 years and Raidernation is buyng the same con job!

Somebody from another team is going to turn this team around. its' been the Patriots payers and coaches for the past 3-5 years now! it started with R. Seymore but Al was in charge and had other DLs' he traded for. but the new Raiders continue to look for this

Reggie bought the Bellichick vision- cheap coach 'em up discipline prepare for everybody not too many elite players. but he was using the whole NFL way not just Bellichick's vision.

They've used Bellichick's vision the NFL way system/ vision. they've hired McDaniels and Ziegler and signed a lot of ex-Patriots. and now they want an ex-football player to tell the front office how to build a football team.

Fans once again throw the Davis family under the bus.

What's up with this none sense a hater's blog claims Davis will sell the Raiders to a associate of Brady's then get a stake and that haters are angry because they want Mark to keep the team and keep sucking!
They say Brady and the people want to do it in secret. and that a military company and big time Trump and Bush connected group have investments in this buyer's group.

I know some of the FOX social media followers and they know the name of the secret stake buyers. Its' not Knighthead, its some kind of group of guys who are conservative/ liberal and from overseas and close with FOX corp and military defense contractor companies and International banks.

There some kind of legal lawyers group that worked for Bush 41 and is into sports ADVISING Brady. I don't know but I feel sorry for Raiders faders, they don't know what to believe and don't want to keep their own legacy which I'm begrudgingly admitting was pretty damned awesome before they lost that Super Bowl to their own coach.

Al-Anon,

This might be a fake story and I think Davis should keep that team and I hope his family will. but this might be a lie or joke or a lie to get people to care for Mark but I do think the NFL is doing things to get stake holders to take over his team.

Sandy, I'm rolling over in my grave, and I'm not even gone yet! The good news is that it is not just Brady. He is part of a group that owns 10%. Yet, Brady's owner's percentage of this group is 5%. The new ownership partners are: Brady, Seymour, and Tom Wagner.
Now the thing that chaps me is Brady has been given the authority over football operations. This is where I'm rolling over in my grave. The rumors are already absurd from who he will take at QB, to hiring Bellichick as HC, and bringing McDaniels back as OC. Just when you thought the Raiders couldn't get any lower ....

A HC/GM change now would be another self-inflicted wound, IMO... but I'm sure the Raiders have it in them. It's been their MO.

The fan base might revolt. The Raiders brass may end up all by themselves, watching games with fans from other teams filling their stadium.

Wait! That's already the happening.

My answer to the Tom Brady thing is that I'm skeptical. Just because he has more football knowledge than Mark Davis might make Brady even more of a danger to the Raiders.

Hey NY! is this another give them a chance they should know football regime that's supposed to come to L.V. and turn this team around!? and are these things true about the ownership group and Brady running the teams from office? why? how does an ex-superstar player get control of a position he's never been trained to work in? what's with inexperienced leaders? you mean we can't find experienced people to run the team and try to win? letting a guy give his advise or opinion might make sense but giving him control of the front office?

Why is Raidernation so naive?

It's fascinating to me that you're whining about Davis selling part of the team. The NFL tried to block it, but Davis still got it done. So much for the NFL making decisions for the Raiders, huh?

That's Mark Davis's prerogative. I don't begrudge him that. Maybe he just stuck it to the NFL and cashed up at the same time. Oh yeah, you think the NFL runs the Raiders, not Mark Davis.

I think you're just mad because you're realizing the NFL does NOT run the Raiders. There goes all your conspiracies. Oops!

Its' not about trying to be right all the time! its' about questioning or proving the Raiders right in their actions. well, they ain't close to being right about much! the NFL has before Al passed tried to force the Raiders to work with them.

And they've done things to get the Raiders back when Al did something to upset them. but Al would just build another good team and the NFL would go back to doing their thing.

Well if the NFL did try to block Brady from being a Raiders I don't see why.

Mark isn't a football man and hasn't made many decisions that's the media and NFL giving us that story. he should show the loyalty to Raidernation that we've shown him and bring in people who know how to build a winner mainly Al's ex-employees.

Quite a contrast.

Since you mentioned it, when was the last time, as you say, "Al built another good team?"

When was that, exactly? How far back do you need to go to make that a credible statement?

In fairness, let's exclude the period which Al sabotaged the team by trading its best head coach since Tom Flores.

Your culture and your sense! if Brady was that good he wouldn't be in L.V. by your own naive and wrong claims nobody want to come to Raiders so why would the NFL let him? its to take MD's team! to erase the Al Davis legacy has nothing to do with helping us or trying to give us something or helping us. they'll win because the NFL will allow it they won't diss Brady like that but it will be phone, fake news a scam and Raidernation won't be too happy when if he got control- when has this dude even mention us in a comment? you will get Brady, NFL people and wall street people- they'll turn the culture into a corporate and conservative show. you will be cheering for a corporate show- they may price fans out and I don't think they'll be any problems with guys faking injuries just dull, conservative football and a wealthy corrupt city hosting a corporation that used to be one of the best teams in pro sports. now it's just a money making scam with silver and black uniforms.

AFC West and the Raiders

Raiders didn't have an elite DL it was very good. they refused to load up on star veteran DLs' they got the cheapest vets and UDFAs' and got some draft picks but their DL is injury drained and has lots of cheap players on it.

K.C.- a good DL has #56 and DT C. Jones.

LAC's- if they find a star NG with K. Mack and J. Bosa they could be a very good 3 man line but they need help from their secondary and depth on the DL.

Broncos- have had some star pass rushers over the past 10 years and now have a good DL. they will have an elite DL if they keep drafting good linemen like DE/ edge J. Ellis.

If J. Elway can do it so can T. Brady. But Elway had GM J. Lynch and Brady is another guy who has no experience in the front office. you've gone NFL mad! you are more NFL than the NFL you refuse to support any ideas with Al's vision in it. he wasn't NFL he was AFL and Raiders and his system might help the Raiders but you still think he ruined this team. and will support any game plan but his. maybe Al's game plan is the best.

To borrow your new favorite word, that's "naive."

Maxx Crosby, Christian Wilkins, Malcom Koonce, John Jenkins, Adam Butler and former #1 draft pick, Tyree Wilson.

You regularly point a finger at the one position group the Raiders had assembled before injuries dismantled them.

Remember the salary cap? I keep mentioning it and you keep forgetting it. If you're going to criticize the Raiders for personnel, at least understand and present all the facts.

BTW, then did "Elway have GM John Lynch?" Their executive careers never overlapped.

You just type away without accuracy or reason.

See you have one point 1! and that's ex-jocks can do a good job in the front office but! I don't think any of them did it on their own! we don't need a version of the New England Patriots in L.V. if Brady knows managing then fine but giving Raiders advise on who to get is a little too much.

And also, haven't we had both experienced and inexperienced guys running this team? well? they're gone, fired or resigned!

Why play with the hopes and expectations, emotions of Raidernation? get some old NFL people to run the team! it can be the Patriots, Steelers, Cowboys, K.C., Broncos or 49ers but don't keep bringing in hyped up football heroes to rescue us from football mediocrity get some experienced guys.

8:46 AM
Blogger nyraider said...

It's "too much" for you because you don't understand football operations. You post stats and claim the Raiders need to spend money on star players without a clue what that means (Marcus Mariota!).

The simple fact is Mark Davis has surrounded himself with inexperienced and/or underqualified people, just like Al did before him.

Mark is trying but, unfortunately, he keeps coming up short.

You complain about Tom Brady but you have no clue what his involvement will be, nor if he has the chops to do something special for the organization.

You simply put him in the Patriots basket and call him bad.

You have no idea. You're a big bag of wind.

BUT!!! BUT!!! you forgot that word that little word that is very important sometmes- BUTT!!!!

You know enough about pro football and winning teams enough to know that it takes that it takes more than football knowledge and a high front office IQ to be successful in the front office it takes an experienced NFL man to help those people succeed.

Al helde

J. Madden was inexperience BUT!!! he had Al to advise and lead him and give him the players he needed to win.

J. Gruden was a good OC BUT! he wasn't a great HC Al got him the talent and gave him advise.

T. Flores had been an assistant in K.C. and Oakland he could've been hired by other teams to make decisions BUT! he had it made and could learn from 1 of the best ever and he got the guys he needed to win.

McDaniels and Ziegler came from a dynasty BUT! Mark didn't have anybody to show them more and Bellichick wasn't in L.V. to advise them. they didn't have that Bellichick leadership but they had the system but didn't do a good job of using it in L.V.

Reggie was from a winning program(Packers) BUT without Al or R. Wolfe he had no experienced execs to advise him. and he was mediocre at bringing in talent. and the NFL wanted a conservative and cooperate with it, 'NFL way' team so Reggie didn't go after star players or draft the best college talent. fan still believe his house cleaning was to build a winner, no, it was the NFL wanting Al's era erased.

You just fired 2 ex-Patriots front office guys(McDaniels and Ziegler).

Your system is basically the Patriots' system.

Some of your QBs' came from New England(Jimmy G., Stidham and another guy).

You've got all kinds ex-Patriots front office people.

And now you want Brady to run a front office department?

Media are making a big thing about what a great deal Tom Brady and his partner(s) got for 10% stake in the team. Nobody, including Mike Florio knows. But it would seem to me the purchase was for 10% equity stake and Brady group is also on the hook for 10% of the debt. So the picture presented by media seems incomplete. Plus, Raiders have other small stake holders.

Also, partial interests in business typically do not carry full weight of value. Partial interests have restrictions and lack liquidity, e.g., just look what the Raiders and Brady had to go through to make this happen.

Maybe I'm missing something, but for as smart as Florio thinks he is, I didn't read any of this in his take.

Maybe Mark Davis gave Brady a good deal. Sure! Why not? $200M is a lot of money to cash up for only 10%. After all, how much money is enough?

To NY Raider,

O.K. what's up with Raider Take? We missed the person, I hope the person will come back and post with us.

All we've seen from the Raiders was ex-Patriots coming to Raiders with the dynasty and they get lots of positive support and praise from media.

O.K. NY, I can't say if Raiders use the same offenses and defensive systems but they try to copy B. Bellichick's style with preparation and discipline. they use the Patriots' and NFL way' by

1. don't spend too much on star players.
2. don't take a lot from star players in contract demands.
3. prepare teams and coach 'em up, don't just use star players a team with average guys can beat anybody if they're well coached team.

That's some of the things they've tried to copy from the Patriots/ 'NFL way' but we haven't done much and don't do a good job of copying Bellichick/ NFL way and 'model franchises'. We could use it but there are other winning programs we could get ideas from. why the Patriots all the time!?

To Raider Take,

Al-Anon

The Raiders are a shell a corporation without a culture!

The AFC West is a awesome division and will be the best again like it was decades ago:

They have QBs' 2 elite and possibly another if Nix gets better.

K.C. is the best team in the NFL! not like Al's losing Raiders team that you guys said got bad because he traded Gruden away- funny, I don't know if Al EVER let a player or coach stop him from rebuilding to win again.

Fans

Reggie
A.P. and Telesco
The Pats' Guys
Bissicia
Gruden II

and they decided

so now they gonna support getting Bellichick and have Brady making big decisions?
ummm....why do they listen to the media/ NFL when you know the NFL didn't/ don't really like us?

So are we supposed to TANK for a franchise QB and just lose in '24 so Brady can help rebuild the team in '25?

Is this loyalty or brainwashing!? we had our own culture! we had a system, we had a vision. now its' a corporation that the NFL is tampering with and they are trying to get new owners for it.

Why do you want to wait for Brady and the NFL to build this team? can't you understand you had a legend/ icon who knew football and was a genius he knew how to find good players and coaches.

the NFL didn't like us for years but you think they are helping us? can't you see they don't?

A fan base wants to support TANKING to help a guy who has no experience as a front office guy and who just bought a stake in the team rebuild it.

They want to blame MD and A.P. when they should've known the Raiders weren't a good team in '24. they still think the media/ NFL is right that you don't spend big on star free agents and just copy model franchises and Bellichick/ 'Patriot way'.

Every time a new regime comes they don't question it they just support it. now they want to wait till next year on a guy who was a football player, not a front office guy and his wall street partners to turn this team around.
